Vintage 1960s butter dish shaped like a scallop shell, with a sculptural, ribbed form and a softly domed profile. The exterior features a reflective silver-tone metal finish with a delicate beaded edge and a rear hinge closure.
Inside, a removable pressed glass insert follows the shell contour, creating a subtle contrast in texture and tone. The set includes a stainless steel butter knife, a later addition that complements the piece.
Originally intended for serving butter or caviar, it can also function as a small decorative box for jewelry or keepsakes. Compact, balanced, and highly tactile.
A refined mid-century object with strong coastal references, equally suited for table setting or display.
